Choice Book: Lucky

                                               Lucky.

The book Lucky is about a girl named Alice, who was raped at the age of 18, and the struggles she faces during the aftermath.  The story follows Alice in the days, weeks, and months after her rape.  The book puts us in Alice's mind while she tries to cope with what tragically happened.
I hope that this book helps me to understand how people recover from a tragic incident like the one Alice experienced.  I have never understood how someone can erase an image like that and the pain that they felt from their brains.  I know people have, and I know it takes time and courage to just not give up, but psychologically there must be something else going on to give someone that amazing strength.  I am hoping that this book will help me to understand that remarkable strength.

    Agree... for this topic, strength and courage are words that come to mind.

    I agree. I don't get how some people have strenght to go on with their lifes after something tragic has happened to them, but I know if a person gets a lot of help and give it time they will be able to move on.

    It seems like an intresting book and that it would give great insight into what victims face after they are abused.
